GermProof® was conceived by serial entrepreneur, solo father of three, rancher and inventor by the name of TR.

With a burning desire to fulfill some of his extraordinary ideas, TR had been toying in his mind with an idea for a germ-proof product, which was chemical, alcohol, and additive-free. TR wanted a product that was all-natural, safe for all to use, and that would provide ongoing GermProof® protection on hands, feet, inside ear canals, and nasal passages to protect from airborne germs. TR wanted a dual-purpose formula, one that could be used for daily germ protection, and that also helped protect wound and burns and speed up healing. TR wanted a true GermProof® all-natural barrier for all.

In 2009, the name "GermProof®" suddenly came to him, and he knew he had to purchase the domain name GermProof.com. When he realized that someone else had already registered the title, he believed so much in the idea that he sought them out and paid a large sum in exchange for the domain name. Then began the quest for the perfect GermProof® formula.

After finding a top-notch chemist who had already created a similar formula, TR was pleased to find out that it met most of the criteria he sought - all-natural and so effective. With a few tweaks, an even stronger formula was created with a higher percentage of chelated silver! TR did not want colloidal silver because it does not have the same powerful antimicrobial properties of chelated silver, nor does it have the right molecular makeup to bind to the skin.

TR put the idea on hold to manage his online companies and free up resources, but he never gave up hope on GermProof®. Enter TR good friend, who encouraged him to rekindle the passion for GermProof®, especially as it was the best name in the world for this idea. The science behind the product was unparalleled and with backing from a highly regarded chemist who had done all of the research!

Thankfully, TR rekindled the passion in 2020 after seeing the Covid-19 outbreak epidemic and is now bringing the dream to reality. Part of the reason for the timing was TR's daughter, a relentless gymnast and top aspiring junior Olympian. TR had witnessed the effects of germ prone hand tears, blisters, and athlete foot infections, to mention a few, on gymnasts including his daughter. GermProof® is now protecting his daughter as well as other gymnasts from the effects of nasty germ infections from busy germ-infested environments while promoting quick healing to help kids get back to practice!

2009

The name came first

Serial entrepreneur, rancher, inventor and single father of three, TR had been turning over an idea for an all-natural germ barrier — no alcohol, no harsh chemicals, safe for everyone in the house. One day the name “GermProof” arrived, and he believed in it enough that when he found GermProof.com was already taken, he tracked down the owner and bought it.

The formula

Chelated silver, not colloidal

TR found a top-tier chemist who had already developed a similar formula and done the research behind it. Together they strengthened it to 200 ppm chelated silver bonded to vegan chitosan derived from mushrooms — chelated rather than colloidal because chelated silver carries a positive charge, and your skin is negatively charged, so it actually clings and forms an invisible breathable barrier that keeps working for hours.

Why there’s a Gel as well as a Spray

The Spray came first, because hands and feet need coverage. The Silver Squeeze Gel came because a spray can’t aim. You can’t mist the inside of a nostril, and you don’t want to mist a gymnast’s hand rip. The Gel holds the same Complex in a thicker form that sits exactly where you put it — nose, ears, cuts, blisters, cracked knuckles, a toothbrush head. Same formula, different tool. It’s the half of the range people don’t know about, and often the half they end up reaching for most.

Other businesses put GermProof on hold, but a good friend kept pushing TR to bring it back. What finally did it was his daughter, a relentless gymnast and aspiring junior Olympian. He’d watched hand rips, blisters and cracked skin sideline gymnast after gymnast. Today GermProof is in her gym bag — and now it can be in yours.

It was designed around a child’s hands from the start. Water-based, non-toxic, clear and odor-free, with no alcohol and nothing to smell. The chitosan is vegan and derived from mushrooms rather than shellfish, so there’s no shellfish-allergy question.
